The national Alzheimer's Association, as well as its 82 local chapters, provides information, support, and assistance on issues related to Alzheimer's disease, funds research on dementia, and advocates for improved public policy. In addition, the Alzheimer's Association provides educational programming for professionals, family caregivers, and the general public.

Alzheimer's Disease Education and Referral Center (ADEAR) www.alzheimers.org/ Use this site to find current, comprehensive Alzheimer's disease (AD) information and resources from the U.S. Government's National Institute on Aging (NIA).

Alzheimer Europe www.alzheimer-europe.org Alzheimer Europe aims to improve the care and treatment of people with Alzheimer's disease through intensified collaboration between its member associations in Europe. Includes contact details for associations around Europe. Available in English, French, Greek, Italian, Spanish, Dutch, Portuguese, Swedish, Danish and Finnish.

Alzheimer's Disease International (ADI) www.alz.co.uk is the umbrella organisation of Alzheimer associations around the world. They aim to help establish and strengthen Alzheimer associations throughout the world, and to raise global awareness about Alzheimer's disease and all other causes of dementia.

Green-Field Library & Resource Center collects a wide range of materials related to Alzheimer’s disease and related disorders and provides services to family members, educators and students, health professionals, social service agencies and the general public.

Institute for Brain Aging and Dementia (University of California at Irvine) www.alz.uci.edu The UCI Institute for Brain Aging and Dementia is one of 29 Alzheimer's Disease Centers (ADCs) across the country designated and funded by the National Institute on Aging of the National Institutes of Health. The Institute for Brain Aging and Dementia is also one of 10 Alzheimer's Research Centers of California (ARCCs). The Institute seeks to better understand and discover the causes of Alzheimer's disease, means for effective treatments, ways to help families/caregivers and those diagnosed with the disease.

The Nun Study www.mc.uky.edu/nunnet/ The Nun Study is a longitudinal study of aging and Alzheimer's disease funded by the National Institute on Aging. Participants are 678 American members of the School Sisters of Notre Dame religious congregation who are 75 to 106 years of age.

Alzheimer Research Forum www.alzforum.org The Alzheimer Research Forum was established for the purpose of enhancing information access and promoting collaboration both within the traditional Alzheimer research community and across the numerous scientific disciplines that can contribute to the global effort to understand and treat Alzheimer's disease. It seeks to support an open, collaborative environment for discussing and debating scientific issues.

Alzheimer Web  contains information on Alzheimer's research and offers a mailing list that disseminates information on research developments.

Dana Brain Web www.dana.org/brainweb 175 neuroscientists recommends a group of Web sites that contain information about brain diseases and disorders.

National Alzheimer's Coordinating Center (NACC) www.alz.washington.edu NACC coordinates and fosters collaborative research between 32 Alzheimer's Disease Centers across the United States, funded by the National Institute on Aging. The NACC web site is very useful for people involved in Alzheimer's Disease Research and also a great resource for caregivers as well.
